  • Humans ARE members of the animal kingdom, phylum chordata, and belonging to the class of mammals. Our problem is that we wnat to separate ourselves from the other animals. I would argue that humans are not necessarily the most intelligent species on the planet.

  • For sure humans have the most potential for intelliegence and often display and use it. The realitiy is many times humans are lower than animals when they don't use their intelligence or use it for the wrong purposes. Animal inteligience is instinctual, but can be superior in case of humans not using their intelligience or acting inappropriately. Have no fear human intelligience is amazing!

  • THat is all due to our unquie evolution.

  • Isn't evolving a near impossibility with the odds of something that doesn't work well turning itself into something that does work well. On the other hand perhaps the creator did have things "evolve" into hirer forms to hide his tracks. Either way there is a creator. Question remains, do I have to do anything about that fact. In biblical Hebrew the word for World is "to hide" G-d hides himself and wants man to find him... what do you think? Hope you're well.

  • Beautiful video, with an all star line up of great Jewish educators.

  • You seem to be a person who appreciates science. The design of the world is incredible, so the designer must be more incredible..... go back to your first email.. I'm sorry if you think you are on the same level as an animal. On one hand we are like animals- bathroom, relations, eating... spritually we are quite different and higher.. you don't see animals emailing each other discussing higher purposes and meaning.

  • I'm not sure of your point, forgive me. As you say there is a G-d or infinite intelligence. I believe the only question to discuss is whether we have any obligations to the creator? For one, giving thanks and being greatful is a good start, who says we're entitled to the pleasures we have without a thank you. In our simple world no likes a person who does not say thank you, so we thank G-d. Judaism has 70 names for G-d not like english. thank you.

  • Animals can not delay gratification...people can.. especailly spiritual people. Most animals will have new mates every year. People who are spiritually developed have one mate..

contemplating a purpose as you are.. animals do not have this ability...sacrifice for others.. animals do not do this.

I recomend our video "A conversation with Rabbi Twerski" we discuss this very question. Glad to see your thinking.

  • I think the main point is is that you cant deny the existance of a soul. NO matter WHAT you do. Humans are the only race on this planet that have emotions, that have COMPLETELY different personalities from everyone else of their kind....Its called the spirit, and you cannot deny it.

  • It will always be "unproven" as G-d's primary directive in creating the world is freewill to avoid humans being robots. This is based on devine revelation when G-d spoke in public to over 2 million Israelites in the dessert and told them the "workings" of the soul.
