20 minute "tour" of flooded Big Bend, LA. May 15th 2011. The Atchafalaya River has been rising and filling this area over the past couple of weeks, and isn't finished yet! It's supposed to crest around the 22nd-23rd.

  • the bubbles is the water working its way into the ground.

  • @thestuffz ...But the water has been there for a few days now at least, and it one one spot out of literally thousands of acres that's doing it. The reason I thought it may be natural gas is they've just found some underground out here and drilled wells nearby. I said at the time that we couldn't smell it. I didn't even realize that natural gas is odorless until the chemical smell is added for safety reasons during refining... ;) Maybe we should go try to light it and see what happens! HAHA
