After 20 months of a break due to knee injury I finaly made my active come back at a little TKD tourney. I'm in blue. The competition was not that strong, to say it nicely, though the second guy was pretty awkard and difficult to fight. He was an ITF practitioner for a long time and has that funny jerky lead leg work. He popped me in the eye with it one time, then I decided to spin at any given point when he even considered raising his lead leg, which worked, though I would never do such things against "normal" opponents.

  • @Snweater LOL! No, she is screaming "Hoch zum Kopf!" Which is German for " Aim for the head!" :D

  • @Snweater

  • I don't know why you are commenting on something that I have said eight months ago. But if its your way of saying you missed me, I guess I missed you too sugar bear. WTF It all boils down to is your art, DO, RYU, Style, whatever the hell ya wanna call it; affective in defending yourself in real world conflict? And not every technique should be applied in sporting competition. I don't know how to apply striking the throat, or eyes in a sporting way. Well it was nice hearing from you again....

  • If you cannot apply the technique in a sporting competition, what good is the technique? Simulation exists to heighten technical skill, and what does not work in simulation is usually reshaped or scrapped. This is a principle applied in many fields.

Okinawans did not invent martial arts, nor did the have an elevated understanding of physiological principles.

Also, I explained the hogu in an earlier post. If you like, you could address a statement of mine rather than rambling on ignoring them.
