My grandfather is the composer of the third song, Not Me. He went by the name Billy Oliver on this one but his name was Oliver T. Hall. My mom just shared this with me. She used to listen to this album all of the time. Her favorite was Why Was I The One You Chose--and of course Not Me. (lol)

@illadelph12 Good to hear from you. I appreciate this kind of inside info. So Billy was different from Jimmy Oliver the guitarist? What was Billy's place in the musical organization?
There are 3 other songs on the LP credited to just "Oliver and McPhatter". Was that Billy? Including What''s Love To Me.
Can you confirm if these records were arranged by Belford Hendricks?
Have you seen my blog on Clyde and all this? (link in profile)

@illadelph12
As far as my mother knows Not Me was the only contribution that her dad made to this album. He also wrote a song called Revenge under his real name Oliver T. Hall for Brook Benton. She was only 10 years old around the time that these songs were released. Not sure what you mean about his place in the music organization.

@illadelph12 Revenge is a fantastic song.
Where did he fit in the music field?

Check out the Clyde McPhatter album, "Live at the Apollo" on Mercury. He was so cool and great songs.

@judsons That one's available on CD from Collectables, but misnamed Best of the Mercury Years.
