Tips for knitters who use the long tail cast on. Estimating amount of yarn needed, how to tell if the cast on is too tight, how to cast on with a second strand (no estimation needed), casting on with self-patterning yarn so the second sock will match the first, casting on with a different color for the edge.

  • Thanks, freshbeanne. I keep thinking I need to break up this video into smaller units. It's a bit long!

  • Let me say this is a masterpiece of longtail caston info; there are a million demos of the actual cast on but this answers all the niggly problems a person can have OTHER THAN the mechanics of the cast on. I don't know why you would not have a million thank you notes in the comments so let me make this ONE MILLION THANKS!!!
