"Stater" here and I've had Jeep's of practically every generation. I liked my Jeeps, but always loved Land Rover and thankfully years ago became able to afford them. Don't even bother about GM 4x4 stuff and Datsun/Nissan 4x4 pickups because I used to tow Japanese trucks out of the mud with my cold-stock CJ5 and a canvas strap. It got very old.

@Trevinibadger Try bad build quality :) You get a great one or you get an absolute lemon!

To the blue 90 driver. Keep your head out the window mid recovery and do the gene pool a favour.

There arent many on road cars that will give you that much fun safely

These cars were designed to go anywhere and everywhere. And that is what they do. Until you morons come along anyway. I'd like to see you 'staters' bring your big, steel, testosterone compensating idiot boxes on wheels to australia, and see just how many places frequented quite alot....that you can't get close to

The problem here is that you yanks have a completely different mind-set about off roading than the rest of the world.
"Lets go as fast as we can and see who breaks what first" is not off roading. It's stupid. However if you have the money to do so, go ahead. But don't then bitch at people when you're just jealous because their rangie is still running.....

The RR is the best off road vehicle ever built the only thing that lets it down in the electrics. Replace every elec part with bosch and all is cool again.

You guys can all argue as much as you like but you'd have to admit that this is pretty damn good for a car designed for mostly on-road use and maybe the odd mud puddle.
I must have a great one, then (The blue one in the still shots near the end of the video). Only problems I've had in 4 years are the drivers lock wearing out and a heater matrix temp sensor failing.

I agree that they weren't the best car Land Rover ever made, but I'm sure you've been told a million times not to exaggerate! I've had mine (the blue one at the end of the video) for over 3 years and the only thing that's gone wrong is a door lock, which was down to plain old wear and tear.

the vehicles your guys are driving wouldnt make it down my mother in laws driveway. what you call "off roading" we call a sunday drive in the country. i guess we will have to agree to disagree. off roading is a little more hard core over here.

I wouldn't disagree that the P38 is doing some tame stuff. The bobtail in the opening clip was kitted up for more extreme off roading, more akin to what you're used to, with lockers at both ends, 35" tyres and some pretty serious suspension even by uk standards.

if this is what you down under guys think is a bad ass off road vehicle then you will be stupified when you see what the hell we are doing over here in the states. this is baby stuff compared to the offroading that goes on over here.

Down under guys? I'm in the uk! It's also a road vehicle, so not comparable to the more extreme stuff you might see in the states. The modifications were carried out to improve it's off road ability without compromising it for everyday road use, not build an out and out off roader.
