  • you should have pushed him over with your outside leg

  • that wouldnt have made him stop bucking.

  • ouch. cute horse though. why were you pulling on his mouth like that? if you were doing it to turn, you should have used more outside leg to push the horse over.

  • @StarHorseLover1

What? why would i use outside leg if i just wanted him to lope? for the horses i ride, inside leg, inside rein (sometimes outside rein) gets them to lope. i really had loose rein on him until i asked for the lead we all knew he would not get off the bat, so i really cranked his nose in to over-exaggerate the turn into the right to get the lead and used my inside leg as well. he got the lead, but 1. didnt like it>bucked, and 2. i threw myself off balance by dropping my shoulder

  • Check out my new video of me back in the saddle and riding crazy like always! :)

  • i should be mounting up for slow work in 3-4 weeks, and regular riding in 6-8 weeks everyone!

  • Good horse!

  • that stinks about the shoulder.....but u have a really good seat!

  • @luvbliss Also, just to make things clear, I'm not critisizing your riding, 'cause you actually ride really well. But I have the same problem with one of my horses, but I always use the outside leg to make sure he doesn't go side ways like the horse you were riding did. I hope you feel better though. That looked like it hurt.

  • @luvbliss No, but not pulling on his mouth like that while he was on the right lead would have.

  • i thought id read the comments first

  • @luvbliss I see what she's saying. Using your outside leg would have gotten your lead, but you really couldn't have stopped him from bucking. There's a horse at my barn that won't get on his left lead, but he's never bucked. You did right by making him turn his head and not drop his right shoulder to pick up the wrong lead. Things just seemed to have gone a little haywire :) sorry for your fall- glad to see you riding again!

  • Girl, everyones a freakin expert! You did just fine, I think you have good form. NEXT time make use of that Awesome round pen in the background! maybe a softer landing! Anyway, I think you have good form. Screw those Know It Alls...

  • @345jamo it's easier on the horse's back instead of bouncing on their spine/back

  • Why are you posting in a western saddle?

  • did you have socks on under your boots
