What is the TRUE motivation behind the Republican budget proposal to privatize Medicare? Is the purpose to reduce the deficit? Do the Republicans want the elderly to pay more or to suffer? The answer is "no" to both questions. What, then, actually motivates the GOP?

  • Excellent!

  • In addition to our congress being owned by the insurance, pharmacudical, and oil industries; some, like Paul Ryan, are ideologically driven. Read "Paul Ryan and Ayn Rand" by Jonathan Chait in The New Republic.

  • Insurance companies are the fleas of the world's armpit. I had to drop over a year ago from BCBS because it was costing my wife and I over $300 per month. When they raised are rates last I was 30 and she was 20; both of us were/are in good health.

The problem is that nearly all Americans are enablers to these big $ corporations. It is sad to think about how dependent the country is on big banks, big pharma, and big oil. When will enough be enough? How much damn money do they need?

  • Well stated, and I fully agree. It's always about the money.

  • I agree David but the problem only hits home after its too late. Its like some Americans have blinders on.
