  • Found this video at the beginning of my lunch break, & 10 minutes later I had succsesfully replaced two old 512MB cards with two new 2G cards. (also purchased via crucial)

Thank you for an informative & easy to follow tutorial!

  • @julianhpike No Problem, glad i could help. I think doing there is some sense of pride after doing it yourself haha, and its cheaper :)

  • Was is 2gb before, now what is it. Just curious.

  • No when i got it, there were two Samsung 512mgb sticks in there, so i replaced them with two Crucial 1Gb cards. I replaced the RAM as soon as i got the mac, but it is defiantly fast!!

  • one note is NOT to touch the gold plate because the gold anodizes and decreases performance, over time it will also rust.

  • Oh thanks i didn't know that. There should be minimal damage though i hope as i dint ouch it for long and don't plan to keep removing my RAM. Thanks for the comment, its my first.

  • I know it's a small chance but watch the static when handling too :)

(It has happened to one of our clients before)

  • Wow. This is brilliant! I'm a student who is low on funds and this saves me $40.00! Plus I get to brag that I'm a girl and did it myself. Thank you for taking the time to film and post.

  • Hi, my sister totally fried her macbook (about 3 years old now). She also spilt some water on it, she's really dumb...and then she tried heat (blow dryer) onto it. BUT when we tried to restart and open the computer it wouldn't turn on and would just beep 3 times. I've researched and could it be the RAM memory? Should I take it in to APPLE and find how much it would cost to replace it? Or should I just do it myself? Thanks!

  • Thanks so much. This is really simple but I was having trouble cause apples instructions are text and I'm more of a visual person.

  • oin to ue ti to ix my Mcboo, becue te mie row o ey re not worin! Tereore, I nee to cen-out my RM cr uin... n erer :
