Penn Badgley who plays Dan Humphrey on Gossip Girl and who used to date Blake Lively and appeared in multiple movies, tv shows, and pro-Obama commercials....

Performing original songs first time ever in public (He performed 3 total)! The guy sounds like Jeff Buckley. This is him doing a cover of Jeff Buckley's Lilac Wine... I guess he is playing Jeff Buckley in a movie... Sorry I didn't get any of his originals on video...

I love Jeff and I think that Penn did a fine job, please keep in mind that this is obviously his first "gig" for a live audience. Granted, he is playing Jeff in the upcoming movie but there is a big difference doing those two things. Be also thankful that Penn beat out Robert Pattinson who was also audition for the same role - If Robert had won, that would have the real Jeff Buckley (R.I.P) turning in his grave for sure.

watch the movie. Trust me. Or read the review by Jeff's friend who wanted to hate the film and ended up spooked by how much Penn resembled Jeff. Google "Last night i dreamed I saw Jeff Buckley"

I'm sorry, this guy may have a voice, but I don't get any vibe of Jeff when Penn portrays him acting wise. From what I saw from the trailer, he doesn't have that soft voice, carefree kind of demeanor that Jeff has. It's not just about whether someone can has the best singing voice close to the person they are portraying, but also the good acting that is close to how the real individual was. Yeah, maybe I have to see the movie to have real judgement on this. I'm just not feeling him acting wise.

Isn't the voice the most important thing?

I actually think Robert Pattinson would've been a better choice. Except for maybe Penn's voice, but that's it.
