High-Speed Rail in the U.S.

President Obama calls it, the new foundation for our futures growth, referring to plans to fund high-speed rail in the U.S., and it looks as if the U.S. is finally getting on board with a way of travel that Europeans and Asians have enjoyed for decades.

Its so lol that the train passing in the first seconds of the movie, is a bombardier Regina, those we used to run as our regional trains in sweden, and then we Had the ABB X2 as Highspeed trains, now they've started scrapping the X2s and begun running the Reginas as their 1st class trains.

How i hate Reginas... They're Not even designed for northern climate...

-High speed trains are ELECTRIC

Electric engines have an efficiency over 90% while a combustion engine has an efficiency below 40%

The friction between rails and train wheels is lower than the friction between tires and asphalt so the transport on rail is more energy efficient.

Just like in bankrupt EU? Borrow more from China and 'Get er done'. Nationalize Everything does create more govt jobs and govt unions fully endorse that. National Socialism is self perpetrating. Voters always vote for ever more govt, to keep jobs and endless raises. Japan lets Private Enterprise do the job, faster and more efficiently, but that approach will not ensure that the great OB can stay in office.
