In 1953, the Andrews Sisters broke up, largely because Patty wanted to try for a solo career. After some turmoil between the sisters, they finally reunited in 1956 and this was their first new single release. They didn't have any more hits, although they continued to release singles through to 1959 and made some very good attempts at blending their sound with contemporary material. This song was a #27 hit on the Hot 100 for Ray Price during the same year (#1 on the Country chart). Jerry Lee Lewis also recorded it.
Other charting versions: #36 for Bob Beckham on the Hot 100 in January 1960, #18 for Marion Worth on the Country chart in 1963 and #16 for Willie Nelson on the Country chart in 1979.
Original Billboard review: "Wistful blend work on the country and western hit of some weeks back. Jockeys should spin, since reunion of the gals is good conversational peg." Billboard rating: 75 out of 100.
Written by Ralph Mooney & Chuck Seals.
Did not chart in Billboard, but released as a single in November 1956.
B-side is "I Want to Linger".
You can still hear the 40's influence in their style! Kind of like the Dorsey brothers last hit So Rare in 1956, then they were both dead with six months of each other.

@VictrolaJazz I agree, you can definitely hear the '40's style fused with the contemporary.

Quite the eye opener, it works well! Case in point of how useful your descriptions are. Without having to leave the page I was able to learn this followed the country release by merely a few weeks and was their first single after reuniting. Curious though, were they always that quick on the draw in follwing up on contemporary material? Many thanks for this!
