Best video I've ever seen on YouTube!!!
Truly a slice of Americana. So sad that it's an era gone by...never to be repeated. The Cyclone & Wonder Wheel are as thrilling as ever. But, besides them and the boardwalk, that's all there is. And The Cyclone costs $8.00 to ride now!!! Not really worth the 4 hour trip for me anymore.

adamscott said "Thor's plans to bring condos and retail to Coney have failed. Yeaa! The City stepped in to help prevent a monopoly." Unfortunately, the City Council voted to rezone the area and allow Joe Sitt and Thor Equities to put up four 30+story highrises on the South Side of Surf Avenue between the former Astroland Site and Stillwell Avenue. It's a real possibility that Nathan's may have to move from the location they have had since 1916.

Yeah, it's weird how different time periods aren't like the one we are currently in.

It wasn't the Cyclone which overlooked the womens bath house roof...it was the Hurricane. It's in my book 'Scary Dark Rides'. :-) We used to re-ride for a Dime with crummy plastic binoculars. :-)
