CHAPTER 1:
It was a dream that was as far-fetched as a little girl building a spaceship and flying to the moon.It was a love that I knew was meant to be...Though the one I was meant to be with didn't even know my first name. But somewhere, however deep and unrealistic it was, I just KNEW.Someday he'd know.So I just had to wait until then...
"Jill!" My friend Valerie's high, screechy voice interrupted my daily fantasies about me and Nick FINALLY being together. "Hmm...yeah...what?"I answered, still partially dazed. "Uhm...a little help here?" She was carrying my literally to-and-a-half feet tall stack of magazines, all with the love of my life's face on it.I quickly slung my pink Jonas Brothers tote over my shoulder and grabbed the burden from her hands.
"Thanks for letting me sleepover, Val.I had a great time!Sorry for my sleep-talking- "Jonas Brothers,Jonas Brothers!" My friend quickly jumped at the opportunity to immitate me talking in my sleep."Hey,what was I supposed to do?" We both laughed at her nuisance and I grabbed the rest of my belongings from her trunk."I'll catcha later... thanks again!" "No sweat, Jill. You always keep me entertained."That word she always seemed to use. ENTERTAINED.I guess it started to grow on me...but still,I felt like I was in the circus when she used it
I headed up my sidewalk to my little home, with a wrap-a-round porch and blue shutters. The typical thing you'd think of when you think "country". Although, it was like every other house in Lanesville, only the tiniest city in the U.S.I don't even know if you could call it a city. All we had was a trashy little seven-eleven and a family-owned barber shop.Everything else was cows and fences. But still...I loved it.It was secluded on my 9-acre lot, letting me be alone with my thoughts, most of the time clouded with the Jonas Brothers. But it was different with me than all the other 16-year-old girls drooling over the Jonas Brothers.I actually felt something...a leap in my heart,a pull at my nerves, everytime I heard his name.Nick.
The sound of Val's engine tumbling forced me to turn around, force a smile, wave, and then open the screendoor and head inside. In here,I was free to think with no disruptions.
