In January 2010 the UNESCO Chair and Institute of Comparative Human Rights hosted an International Youth Human Rights Forum in Rwanda. As a participant and filmmaker, one of the things I enjoyed most was interacting with the people who I met from all over this beautiful country. Whenever we visited people in various villages in Rwanda, I would flip the viewfinder around and let them see themselves. You'll see the results in this video.
Two lessons I especially learned from this experience. One, is that we all love looking at ourselves! Two, is that a smile is a smile. No matter where you live - a smile is universal. It is just another reminder of how connected we all are.
It made me smile!
