12,000 mile warranty...wow they were generous back then. But seriously, I think the company knew that after 10,000 miles, all bets were off on the longevity of this turd. In fact, speaking of bets, I am willing to bet the company did their fair share of warranty work well BEFORE the 10K mile marker.

The american population wants turbo diesel. But our dumb ass EPA is making that difficult. Diesels make to much emmissions. So they make standards that lower mileage to worse than gas engines. What they dont realize, theyd create less emmissions by increasing mileage than increasing emmissions standards.

...Boston Volvo subsequently sent me a few teasers telling me to come and look at their Volvo range, the smallest engine in the XC70 inventory being the 3.2 Petrol! Now, think about how much gas that guzzles compared to the 2.5 TDi which incidently has MORE torque and MUCH MORE distance on a tank of fuel. WHY have Americans still not copped on to Turbodiesel! Tsk!!!

There's a guy in the latest issue of Rotary International magazine warning Americans about the Nano, the new low-cost Indian car being imported to the USA. He warns about too high expectations as happened to the failed Yugo import enterprise. The thing that caught my attention throughout, whenever fuel economy was mentioned, that there was no mention anywhere about Turbodiesel cars. For example, I recently contacted Boston Volvo asking if they have Turbodiesel Volvos in their inventory - Nope!
@supertrix101 Yugo is not a company it is a car model name. ZASTAVA is name of the company. :)

I had a Yugo Koral, 1,100 cc. It was my first car, took me everywhere I wanted and it went perfectly on mountain roads where you should not go over 80-90 km/h. Thyta's waht it w made for - the roads in Yugoslavia. I had a ball of a time with it. I even sped 160 km/h on the Skopje-Belgrade highway a couple of times, the Yugo was fine, though not the safest ride I've had. If you compare it to VW, it's crap, but when you are 19 or 20 it's a car!
