In case nobody mentioned this already, this scene was film on the Warner Brothers soundstage where "Camelot" had been shot a year earlier. It's a stark contrast to the exterior scenes Francis Coppola shot up in northern California.
Don Francks - Canadian Actor - was in the TV show of femme nikita ... his daughter was on Different World as Freddy and his son is now on Stargate Atlantis I remember Rainbow when he was about 3 :)
Love the musical Finian's Rainbow. but this 1 song, wow. Has been recorded & sung by so many famous artists like Sinatra. Probably the best known song from the play & movie. Thanks mickeyjoe for posting this clip. As for Pet Clark, "I know a place were we can go", it's "downtown". but "Don't sleep in the subway darling" Amazing talent, was a star on British radio when she was but a wee thing & she was one of the Lady singers in the 60's who defined that generation of music.
These two wonderful performers created one of the sweetest, sexiest scenes in movie history with this. Their voices intertwicne so beautifully. Petula, Don, and Fred Astaire were wonderful in this movie although the rest of the film pales a little in comparison. Great soundtrack. Thanks for posting this gem. I'll rewatch it often when I want to see romance in action. Petula Clark is totally gorgeous!
don"t miss this film, she is so wonderful ,fresh ,sweet , what else can i say. and all the songs are beautiful. todo el exito que tienes te lo mereces petula,la gente con tu talento debe ser admirada por todo el mundo. love you very much
Our HS drama class did this one, and I played Susan (the dancer) Becuase we weren't familiar the show, I had to rent the video. All I can say is----wow. The entire movie is phenomal, even for 1968. Don and Petula [what a name, lol] are wonderul together and their voices, the whole scene. That surprise *kiss just makes you melt---lol
