  • she ha had such an amazing range!

  • Marian Anderson was clearly one of the greatest of all American singers. Toscanini praised her as a voice that comes once in a lifetime. She made this wonderful recording with the San Francisco Symphony in the War Memorial Opera with the great conductor Pierre Monteux, who led the orchestra from 1935 to 1952. This was one of a number of RCA Victor recordings that the orchestra made, originally issued on 78-rpm discs and later on LP.
