Cyrus is one of VERY few "greats" that actually deserves that title!
He BUILT societies, civilization. He built a greater identity and a stable, strong, prosperous and justice-minded state.
Alexander left destruction and seething resentment in his wake (just ask any Persian today!) His death left Iran in chaos, poverty and civil war!
Genghis Khan similarly merely killed and pillaged, didn't build or rebuild.
Peter, Catherine, Frederick the "greats" were serf-owners! But Cyrus freed serfs!
