You are digging too deep. When she said Age ain't nothing but a number, it was more of a reflection in terms of talent. It doesn't matter how old or young someone is, a talented person is talented regardless. You shouldn't overestimate or underestimate anyone because of their age. That's what she meant or at least how I saw it as a child and how I continue to see it. Everybody can hear a song and hear their own meaning though.

yeah, if the love is genuine and legit it's just a number. I mean that yeah doesn't mean she's 15 you're 35 it's just a number, thats not really legal here, while it maybe in other places. But i think it's a reference to once you're both adults it's just a number.
