You stated that B12 is produced by bacteria in the body. The B12 potentially produced is B12-analogues (forms of B-12 that are not metabolically active in the body).
I do agree that when the diet is correct then there will be no problem.
You ask were animals get B12 from.... I ask you where do cat get Vitamin C from? Unlike humans they actually produce Vitamin C. The biochemistry of other animals are not the same as humans.

Vitamin B12 is produced by bacteria in the body. When the diet is physiologically correct...there will never be a defiency in B12.
