Three short clips of WPAZ from February and March 1981. Received from Philadelphia. The first during mid-day with a clear signal. The last two are in the evening with nighttime (critical hours) propagation interference. Sign off at sunset included. After many years, I was in downtown Pottstown and heard them sign-off at 6 p.m. on October 25, 2009 -- complete with the National Anthem. I later found out that WPAZ went off the air December 10, 2009. From D.J. Andy of the WPAZ Preservation page, "I thought back to then to who the voices were. One voice "I think" is John Lamonica. Second I think may be the late Arland Saylor's wife? From what I gather, Arland Saylor was the Music Director at Boyertown High School plus other accomplishments (in the Military) and had a Big Band show on WPAZ. Sometimes you would hear Boyertown HS's Band on there peforming (on a record or tape). Ken Valentine's voice is in there also. The last voice is Jim Plummer (ND then) for the sign-off. Jim Plummer is at Radio PA Network (heard him do features for them) which was carried on WPAZ."
I was a DJ at WPAZ in 1982-1983, during the time when the owner Herb Scott passed away. Do you have any airchecks from that era?
