www.fired.tv This week's job tip is resumes do not get you hired, you do! Candidates often waste a lot of time and money on resumes. However, did you know that human resources often uses your resume to screen you out? Instead, as I mentioned in my first podcast, the key to generating interviews is networking. Please review that again. Also, approach this like a top salesman. Look at it as a numbers game. The more people that you call on, the more likely that you will make the sale.
Set a goal to meet 10 new people a day. Let them know who you are and what you are looking for. It beats having your resume put in the dead file by human resources. Remember, resumes do not get you hired, you do. Go out and meet as many people as you can letting them know that you are looking for a job. www.fired.tv
