Since the song was released in 1971, I guess it's actually Grammy awards, 1972. In my opinion, the 60s ended around 1971-72, but that's a bit complicated to explain, LOL!
@Undefeated92 Yeah, she actually had a full range, and not too many people knew she could sing equally well with the high notes. I always say that Karen Carpenter had an extremely pleasant "woman's singing voice", warm and sensuously feminine, lady-like. Not like a lot of these so-called "singing stars" of today. I think when a person hears her sing something like Want You back in my life again, they are surprised she could sing so high and so flawlessly.

@khamdoun It's the hair. Usually her hair was a little stark and hard-edged. The curls really soften her face.
