what a great dark baritone-like voice! also excellent tecnique and musical intelligence (rare for tenors)... But also what a handsome man. Thank you for posting it, because I didn't knew this great tenor!

@LordoftheTrapdoors : Del Monaco e soprattutto Giacomini sono state DUE AUTENTICHE MERAVIGLIE della lirica e, per dirla tutta, hanno avuto carriere lunghe il QUADRUPLO rispetto a quella di Cecchele. Giacomini un urlatore ??? GIACOMINI era un LEONE e, negli anni '90, cantava ancora DA DIO ( era uno dei pochi a non sfigurare accanto alla DIMITROVA ). Cecchele, SUBLIME nei primi anni di carriera, già negli anni '80 non aveva più voce e, per dirla tutta, era abbastanza inascoltabile. CIAO.

Un raro esempio di tenore drammatico che canta anzichè limitarsi ad esibire la voce. Grande prova di moderazione efinezza nell'uso della voce e di attenzione al fraseggio e all'interprertazione (personalmente molto superiore a "urlatori", pur sempre grandi, quali Del Monaco o Giacomini). Forse un po' freddo come attore (se lo si confronta, per esempio, con Del Monaco o Domingo), ma sotto il profilo vocale, una perla rara.

Ceccelle wa indeed a great tenor, Calaf, Manrico, Radames, Turiddu, and many other roles. There is no best CALAF or anyh other part for that mtter. Each fine interpreter is the best one when you e listening to him live or in recordings...JRT
