A recital of "Song of Love", a poem by Rupert Chawner Brooke (1887--1915). Rupert Brooke was an English poet known for his idealistic war sonnets written during the First World War (especially The Soldier); however, he never experienced combat at first hand. This poem is thought to have been written in 1913.

Song of Love

The way of love was thus.
He was born one winter morn
With hands delicious,
And it was well with us.

Love came our quiet way,
Lit pride in us, and died in us,
All in a winter's day.
There is no more to say.
