The 80s were better than the 2000s I agree (in my opinion of course). But don't make the same mistake a lot of people do; they treat decades like they're plentiful, and say the 2000s is the worst decade in history. When you consider the 1910s, 1890s or 1780s for example the 2000s seems like paradise. Really you only have the 2000s, 90s, 80s and 70s to choose from. The 60s and 50s also if you're pushing it, and no one seems to go 40s or before. So that's only 4 (or 6) decades.

Of course it wasn't perfect. There have been wars and other bad things. But the 80s were much better than the 2000s I guess.

I've asked my grandparents about the 80s. They personally didn't see anything spectacular about the time, but that's probably because they witnessed the 60s. But I also asked my parents who were teenagers then, and I got a similar answer to my grandparents. They said the music was fantastic, better than anything now. They cringe at the fashion. They said people were nicer and kinder. Movies were better. But there was also unemployment, greed, and the like. It wasn't perfect.
