gear lube for HO trains works 2 ways silence the noise slow speed down .

This noise is coming from the motor not the gears :-(

the gears are well greased.

The rest of mine M62s are OK. This one's motor is the loudest. :-(

Roco makes m62's as well, right now I'm looking at a blue M62 for the SZD.

Apparently that is a chronic problem with the PIKO motors. I've tried cleaning it and bunch of other things. It goes away for little while but keeps coming back. A new motor is next on the list.
