Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral, from the opera Lohengrin
composer - Richard Wagner
arranger - Lucien Cailliet
performance by Kagoshima Joho High School Band
I've already uploaded this work in its original version - for orchestra and chorus. This is the popular wind band arrangement by Lucien Cailliet. There are, unfortunately, a couple of cuts due to the time constraints of their television appearance.
Four snares....

At 4:41: Not more cow bell, but more CYMBAL! This all nicely done.

Right around 4:42, I'm not totally sold on the "revision" of the 1st trumpet. I've always found that the sustained High Bb that is written has much more power, towering over the band. (Very well illustrated in the Eastman Wind Ensemble recording, same arranger but conducted by Fred Fennell)

And this is the people whose application, meticulousness, patience, sense of order and harmony, cooperativeness etc etc -- the psychosocial capital built over millenia -- is being used up, tattered, exploited, defiled by a ruling group that fears to tell the truth about a "powerful" "industry" : -- "powerful" only because an overpowerful government creates profits for it by letting it ignore its real costs, and not really an "industry" (since it could never survive honestly) but a gigantic scam.
