Jimmy Moore from http://www.thelivinlowcarbshow.com/shownotes interviews Detlev Boison from http://www.legacyhealth.org regarding a new study of mice showing how the high-fat, low-carb ketogenic diet works in some people to help control seizures caused by epilepsy.
Boison from The Legacy Research Institute in Portland, Oregon has identified in mice the molecular mechanism responsible for the antiepileptic effects of the ketogenic diet. It's by decreasing the expression of the protein Adk, which is responsible for clearing the natural antiepileptic agent known as adenosine from the brain.
This study was published in the June 23, 2011 issue of THE JOURNAL OF CLINICAL INVESTIGATION:

@TrueGreatness73 Then what about thriving fruitarians?
theflubbybear 2 months ago
@theflubbybear Because sugar spikes the insulin(fat regulator) and the carbs store up as fat. The only good carbs I suggest is from veggies. I dont do grains. I do have my once a week carb up(cheat day) to restore my leptin levels. I am on a low carb no sugar life style.

@TrueGreatness73 Why do you say that carbs and sugar make you fat? Check out durianriders at youtube(dot)com/durianriders

@ObamaWasBornlnKenya high fat does not make you fat unless its the bad trans fat. Carbs and sugar make you fat. I eat high protein and high fat with low carb life style and I am a fit. Control insulin which is a fat regulator and you control the weight which is why im always on ketosis.
