After leaving Ruabon via Chester and Crewe (with a lovely female announcer ;-)) we caught the Great Britain II at Wrenbury again pulled by 34067 "Tangmere" (instead of 6291 "Princess Elizabeth"). The next day was spent at the North Yorkshire Moors museum railway leaving York in the morning by double decker bus through the narrow roads of Yorkshire. First stop was Goathland where we even got the treat of Black 5 45212 "posing" in front of a freight train. Other engines in regular service were NER class Q6 63395, GWR Class 5600 6619 and Southern class S15 825 which took us to Whitby on the coast with its great scenic views where the departure was filmed.

  • I really like the way you compose your shots: slightly different angles. Very nice. Image quality is great. Might I ask what type of camera you are using?

  • Hi,

    Thanks! :-)

I use a Canon Powershot S5 IS photo camera, but there are already newer versions of it including one with HD capability.

    Greetings,

    Roni

  • Nice video on the NYMR, I'm on there at 4:24 carrying a tin of oil to the end of the loop, I remember seeing 2 people on the bridge that day and feeling slightly guilty about walking down there in my hi-vis when I saw the cameras. Sorry bout that. Hope you enjoyed the railway despite the dull weather

  • Hi,

    Thanks! :-)

Well, so you can see how small the world is. Don't worry, the photos will be in b/w, so no problem with the vest. And I like shots with working people in them, they are my favourites. The Black 5 posing in front of the freight was highly appreciated! :-)

    Greetings,

    Roni
