Jesuit 'gadget' - Novatel MiFi 2200 w/Verizon EVDO

EVDO isn't new. WiFi isn't new... neither is mobile computing or wireless hotspots...

But take an EVDO modem, strap on a 802.11b/g WiFi AP and allow us to share it in our own mobile hotspot and THEN you've got something worthy of 'gadget'!

Sadly, no. It's an entirely different device and you HAVE to purchase a dedicated data plan.

Some people have reported difficulties when activating on a Mac, but that was with early versions of the software. -- I had no trouble whatsoever.

Father Robert, how do you set up wireless ip (network) cameras with the mifi 2200?

The MiFi 2000 acts like a regular router, so as long as you can setup your IP camera to use the SSID and WPA key of the MiFi, you should be fine.

Yes... either if your Desktop has WiFi or if you have it connected to your desktop via USB.
