Continued....Car started on first crank. My question is when I was turning the crank to check that everything stayed the same for each revolution I noticed that the belt would go loose and then the little fork on the tensioner kept on moving but when the engine would move to compression stroke cylinder 1 it would re-align. Can you help me out here? I'm totally lost

Okay I need help, I followed all your instructions and now the car has no power what so ever. I do not understand what I did wrong. I made sure everything was on top dead center. I installed the new belt and pullies and made sure cam's were aligned for compression stroke. Continue on to next post.

Are the piston and valves a interference fit. Example if your belt blows can your pistons smash into your valves?

They say this is a interference engine and valve damage can occur. I have replaced hundreds of these belts and everyone dies while driving and everyone worked with no valve damage.
