Horrible! I've handled crumhorns myself and come up with better results than that. I think you've got the wrong reed in, so have a chat with the instrument's maker and get it sorted out. Sorry, but it's not funny, but just unpleasant.

It uses a different scale than modern instruments, and it's not tuned to 440hz either, so ultimately.. It's going to be out of tune.

@patoa94 Having never played a crumhorn myself, I can't say for sure, but I know some of the early instruments (i.e. the Serpent family) don't just produce the right note on demand and it takes quite a bit of practice to actually hit the note you are aiming for.
