Does this make sense for singing in harmony? Ok, if the melody note is in C (as in the note itself not the key), then that is on the C or F major chord but for now let's say its in C. Can I then hamonize singing in E or G (that is in the C major chord) above or below the melody line depending on the structure?
Twinkle twinkle little star......
C C G G A A G, can I harmonize it singing
E E B B C C B as long as it's on the chord of the melody line? Need help!

@dleblanc thanks!

@hewonyew Depends on the melody note. Most of the time you're singing other chord tones. Whether that's a third, a fourth, or a fifth above or below depends on the note and the chord.

Thanx awesome

The harmony is typically a third. It does matter for the placement of the other parts.

Thank you Thank you Thank you, I have been searching for something like this for a long time. One question, what is a comfortable high range, mid range, and low range for average singers? You know a lot of gospel choir songs today have insane highs. Thanks again
