1977 Monte Carlo

1977 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. As I write this, this car has 69,988 miles. My first car was a 77 MC. which dad bought for my mom in about 1988. Mom drove it for about three years until she got a different car. I got my drivers license in Jan. 1991 and was buying it from my parents before I was legal to drive. I was just 16 at the time. My first car was bright red with a full, white vinyl top and had approx. 94,000 miles on it when I started driving. I believe that when My dad sold that car when I was done with it, I had driven about 40,000 miles in that car in three years. I had alot of fun with that first Monte Carlo. Unfortunately, miles, rust, abuse and a slightly newer car in 1994 split the two of us up. I found this 1977 Monte Carlo late last summer and was able to make it mine. I was driving it to the car show a couple of weeks ago with my brother, and I found myself thinking about the things that are different from twenty years ago when I was driving my first car ; I don't like to drive as much as I did when I was 17, everyone is on the phone in traffic now including me, and gas isn't 99 cents anymore. I may miss the good old days but I will make some new ones.

I had a '74 Malibu Classic with similar seats and I recall the seat vinyl being very durable. It's so refreshing to see a car being kept completely original right down to the Delco radio.
