A collection of astronomical photographs by Debra and Peter Ceravolo set to music with the song Twinkle Twinkle Little Star by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole.

The Comet Hyakutake time lapse movie was produced by Peter Ceravolo during it's pass by the Earth in 1996. The non-deep sky photos with Earthly foregrounds were taken by Debra or Peter using various SLR and DSLR cameras to give the video watchers a sense of belonging to Earth as well as the Universe.
All deep sky images were taken with the Ceravolo 300mm telescope. Peter did all of the image acquisition and Debra did all of the image processing.

  • @nehal0001

Hello, that was the Rosette Nebula fading out and the Moon fading in.

  • Hello again, I have a 70-300mm zuiko lense, what type of telescope would you suggest I use, or what else would I need. I have a 10 mp dslr olympus E-410, any help would be great, and by the way great song.

  • There are so many options out there to get started, the best advice I can give is to get the book Backyard's Astronomers Guide by Terrance Dickenson and Alan Dyer. There you can learn a lot about the equipment needed. But also just as important is learning how to do image processing. My favourite book for that is Photoshop Astronomy by Scott Ireland. Hope that helps!

  • Absolutely stunning. And I can't imagine a better choice of music to go with it: Bruddah IZ was a treasure, and so is this vid. Thanks for sharing it! Sherry at RASC Victoria Centre.

  • Hi Sherry, thank you. I agree that IZ's voice is 'heavenly'. I first heard him in Hawaii while visiting the Big Island.
