  • @Ballsarama The stigma of Welles in Hollywood stemmed from his inability to compromise, as he put it,

his art for the sake of Hollywoods standards or lack there of. His difficulties, and his 'genius' aura made him the target of the monstrous egotism which saturated the landscape. Critics, producers, media moguls, journalists

would oppose him, deride him, and destroy his credibility. Yet we now know that like all great artists his era of appreciation will be a poshumous one.

  • Pero callate Sorete mal cagado!

  • godfather is the greatest film ever

  • @sspdirect02 Also, there are some manipulations that imply certain things, like the photo of Mank and Houseman in Victorville (with the steno girl putting lotion on Mank's head)...that photo has been cropped on the left side to eliminate Wells, who was sitting there. Also, the implication that Hollywood didn't embrace Wells...he was on friendly terms with all the established directors and studio bosses.

  • @sspdirect02 Well, the concept that Mankawiz wrote the movie all by himself. There's been some heavy research of Mercury Players documents regarding that. Wells wrote his version of the movie, Manky his, and the final is a synthesis of the two. The "girl on the ferry with the white parasol" scene with Mr. Bernstein was Manks, the breakfast scene was Wells. Also the idea that Wells was going to take full credit of the screenplay. Get a copy of This is Orson Wells...it covers this.

  • Question in curiosity. Was this an original home video release, or was this one you recorded years ago?

  • @Ballsarama What sort of factual errors?
