The thing that will stick to me from this vid is the notion of ordering the world in only two terms; finity and awareness. These two attributes creates four possible combinations. Infinite and non-aware as the physical world. Finite and non-aware as the animal world. Finite and selfaware as humanbeings. That leaves only the fourth possibility of Infinite and self-aware defined as God(s). So maybe it isnt that strange after all the humans have come up with this possibility. Thanks for the insight
@doctorjay1976 Yep, we (finite self-awareness/consciousness/left brain) have emerged from infinite awareness without self-identity (the collective unconscious/right brain). So how can we move forward?Isn't it obvious? We have to combine the self-aware part of finity/left brain with the infinite part of the collective unconscious/right brain.Acceptance is a major key to this as you guessed, and yes, with enough practice dead itself may in fact be conquered (described in religions as 'eternal life')
Religion covers up our finite ends and thus guilt reemerges or re-manifests or simply emerges when the belief structure is in question...? I tend to believe that religion, whether organized or unorganized, emerged when humans became self-aware. Guilt either emerged with religion or out of religion (so I think).
Prof. Anton. I demur. The notion of "death" and therefore being "finite" & wrapped in an "awareness" of these, resulting in a utilitarian "guilt," is only a metaphysical and scientific truth if we are, in fact, proveably "finite." Are we "finite?" Metaphysically, whether we are finite is not solved by appeal to the towering edifice of biological "death." To say "we will die one day" is a powerful argumentative assertion, but even if confined to a naturalistic bubble, it defies nature.
No, fear of the unknown and a desire to control is what creates religion. Guilt is used and propagated in order to insure dehumize people creating sycophants and mindless followers. Religion weilds guilt n shame as well as fear and a might-makes-right philosophy. Finite has nothing to do with feeling guilt but aware does.
4000-5000 years, I can assure you people were self aware much before that. Guess you have to consider the religious people with a little more primative views on our time on this earth.

@CoolCrazyAtheist There is an obvious parallel between subtle communication and fine philosophy...

The most I watch your videos the most I admire your wisdom and knowledge to analyze existence. Are you a Doctor of Philosophy?
