Why do you FYROM people want to be called Macedonians?

Macedonia was a Greek state.They spoke greek, they had greek culture,they had greek gods,Alexanders mother was from Peloponese(Greece) what else do you want?

The people of FYROM are Slavs who came to Europe at the Medievall ages.

The Macedonian Empire existed centuries before the Slav Barbarians Invaded Europe.

And something I forgot to say, Pella the Capital of the Macedonian Empire is in Greece.

I´m sorry...but they spoke an ancient language what was a little bit simillar and was called macedonian...and macedons aren´t slavs they got mixed up with...for example solun (thessalonik) was the capital city of macedonia until 1913, but then greeks stole the macedonian terretory...and why was alexander a greek when he and his father had killed more than 50,000 greeks?? that makes no sense...

Sigh. Greek and Hellene mean the same thing in modern English usage guy. Visit any english website run by Greeks (including Macedonians). They all use Greek and hellene interchangable. You are the only person in the world that seems to think the two terms mean something diffrent in modern english usage..
