Brian Becker: "The People Will Mobilize!"

On Saturday, September 15, 2007, the ANSWER Coalition, a progressive antiwar group, sponsored a Mass March and Die-In in Washington, D.C. Its purpose was to raise the consciousness of enough people in this country to stop the illegal and immoral Iraq War and to prevent the Bush-Cheney Gang from launching a war against Iran. The rally took place in Lafayette Park, just north of the White House, where a number of prominent speakers were heard. One of the speakers was Brian Becker, National Coordinator of the ANSWER Coalition. He predicted that the people "will mobilize" and that the next antiwar rally set for set for late October, 2007, may bring "one million" demonstrators to the Nation's Capital. Mr. Becker denounced the White House, the U.S. Congress and the Pentagon as being "an axis of evil." He labeled the Iraq War: "a criminal war of aggression." Mr. Becker was later arrested at the Capitol for crossing a police line.
