when i jailbreaked it and i tried to download like a app or modify something or upgrade or changes or anything on cydia to download i cant i dont know why can somebody help me and my winterboard works

how come mine says firmware error string when i browse for my 2.2.1 firmware thing? I have an Ipod touch 2.2.1.

When i downloaded the firmware for my touch and then clicked on it, it wouldnt pull up quickpwn, it would just goto my itunes. And the emblem on my desktop shows a lego with a itunes logo on it. Does anyone know whats wrong? Did I download the wrong thing?
