@TechnoW1zard Can I do it by adjusting the spark gap?
-
@anirbankar21 to tune a tesla coil you have to have the primary inductor and capacitor generating the same frequency as the secondary inductor and capacitor. Inductive and capacitive reactances need to match in each part.

so cool :D

Please tell me how to tune the tesla coil to produce maximum length of arc?
-
nice

@tesladude19 i know it would be alot of work but could you do a tutorial on how to make a small tesla coil even some helpful pointers would be nice.
-
can u please show a vid on how to make this

please show a video on how to make this

try a better capacitor. there is a lot of loss from corona on the cap. i would try a 2 smooth plates about an inch apart suspended in oil (try more plats for more capacitance and further apart it is still arks )

@powermaks I would have, but this tesla coil was to be made from everything i could scavage from the dumpster or local surplus store, the NST was the only bought from a store besides the nuts and bolts. I no longer have this coil either, I'm currently working on a 4 inch coil now, though progress has been slow

So is a tesla coil really just a glorified spark gap with the ground?
Kelarre653 4 months ago
@Kelarre653 not even lose really...lol...its a tuned air core resonance transformer, it will spark to air without the ground next to it....i honestly cant remember if i showed it in this video or not
