This example shows a left-handed thread being machined (M19*1.75mm). As you can see, it works just as well for left-hand threads as it does for right-hand ones. Again, virtually any pitch thread can be machined easily. It might be worth noting that, if a thread milling or grinding attachment were to be added to the lathe, then even greater accuracy could be achieved as well as being able to produce large diameter threads.
There is no undercut provided at the start of the thread in this example, although, tougher steels may require one. I was using EN3B.
