  • Wonderful performance!

My son is playing this piece for a month, but he still has difficulty to play spicatto property. I guess spiccato is a difficult bowing technique for 10 years old kid. I wish he can play as well as you during his recital in March.

  • @jymchen Thank you for comment!

Actually there is a secret of this piece.

You beleave or not the secret is that this is not sipccato.

He should paractice on detache with short bowing. First in low tempo.

And with metronome. Than put the metronome higher and higher. He should play strictly in tempo even.

And in fast tempo there are some places where detache and spiccato are changing.

I mean there are some places wher he must play detache.

  • @jymchen

And in fast ( maximum ) tempo it will sound like spiccato.

Good luck for concert in March .

  • @jymchen

    Your wellcome!

p.s : detache on fast tempo is transforming automaticly in spiccato, thats why i said detache with litle bow.

    Best regards.

    Aron

  • Thanks for your tips for this piece. My son applies your tips in tonight's practice, and it does sounds much better than before. Besides the bowing technique, the dynamic you played in this piece is also exceptional. I am planning to have my son watch your video everyday before he plays this piece. I do believe he will improve a lot from your performance.

    Thanks a million!

  • @pbaron23

My son's cello teacher taught him to do detach bowing at the beginning, and later on, ask him to use some wrist while playing. Now he is practicing to use spiccato to play this piece. If you only use detach bowing to play this piece fantastically, then I guess my son can try to use your tips play this piece.

    Thanks for your advice!

  • @GeorgeOfZala Thank you so much the positive comment :)

  • Congratulations! Great singing sound on the cello coupled with a very good bow technique. The audience surely enjoyed some good acoustics enhancing your performance.
