Noticed the Striker on the Woodfield GCP website http://www.woodfield-gcp.co.uk/Hatsan.htm and had been eyeballing this one for a while:

Hatsan Striker 1000X wood 6.35 mm / .25 cal.

Not for sale in The Netherlands, the .177 and .22 cal are but the .25 isn't.

Had a Hatsan 135XRD break barrel air rifle in .25 cal and a 155 Torpedo underlever in .22 cal for a while in the past but this Striker seems a bit more friendly size/weight/cocking effort/powerwise.

Read a few positive reviews about this Bulgarian online webstore:

Ordered and payed for Sunday October 23rd, the rifle was delivered Friday October 28th, quite fast.

First impression October 28th:

Rear of the stock appears to be a copy of the Stoeger X20, just like the muzzle brake.

Trigger is the early Gamo version if I'm not mistaken.

Breech fitted tight into action, needs to brake in, open-close takes effort, cocking stroke itself is normal.

Wood and finnish very nice, chequering too, although the chequering design could be improved.

Action's finnish nice for the price, not like a Weihrauch but the Striker's price is a bit lower so overall am very pleased.

Noise is medium, first two shots unrecorded w. a piece of tissue before and after the pellet, not loud at all, no dieseling, merely a whiff of smoke, nothing bad.

After that took three shots with three types of pellets, spread was not bad for a new rifle, output not bad either, factory specs 650 fps full power version (no powerlimit in the Netherlands), 18 fpe w. Gamo Hunter, 19.5'ish with H&N Field Target Trophy, a bit above 20 fpe w. H&N Hollow Point.

Expected this to be a "close relation" to the SMK XS19 and all of it's variations, which it is.

If it will become very popular an after market trigger would be nice, tested one, it's a drop-in, it functions ok, no problems with safety nor anti-bear trap, closing the rifle actually needs quite a slam because it isn't worn in yet, this "closing slam" didn't cause the rifle to fire. With the aftermarket trigger no longer a long 2nd stage and crisp and predictable let-off, the only problem is the factory blade is much longer.

I'm happy to have taken the plunge to order a rifle from Bulgary, fast delivery and received it un-damaged and in good condition.

Bottom line: the Striker has the XS19 feel and nice stock I hoped for and has nice fiber optic sights.

Both full power Hatsan's I owned before (and sold) were over the top for me, lovely rifles the 135 and 155 but their full power cocking effort.....

October 29th:

Shot a few tins, took 5 unrecorded shots, after that recorded two 10 shot strings using a Chrony, shot some video footage and made this vid.

Like the rifle as-is. Might tune it in the future. Hope a replacement trigger will become available.
