@Konduffi2 Fischer definitely exhibited symptoms of mental illness, possibly more than one. I never said Jews were more intelligent than anyone else but it is a fact that they produce a lot of grandmasters, same as the Russians. Yes, this can be argued that it is part of their culture. For example, chess is more popular in Russia than elsewhere as it's a common pass time, something to engage in during long cold winters. As a result they produce more masters and grandmasters.

I dont think that Bobby Fischer was mentally ill. And Jews are not more intelligent than other people. It depends on how you will get pushed. There are many very intelligent people who are no Jews but Jews get often a very good education because its in their culture to educate well. Thats why it seems as if they would be more intelligent, what they are not. Back to Fischer he had an opinion and he was full of hate, that has nothing to do with an illness.

@happydelicious Now as a percentage of the population I would agree that Jews and Asians excel. Russia produces the highest amount of grandmasters but chess is also instilled in their culture... Gelfand may be currently 16th in the world rankings, but you can't forget past Jewish champions such as Mikhail Tal and Wilhem Steinitz. Bobby Fischer was Jewish (he'd deny it) , he may have had aspergers, a form of autism. Sadly his mental condition deteriorated with age, but was brilliant on the board.

@happydelicious There are a lot of great Jewish chess players, but I don't think you're opinion is based on facts, but rather stereotypes. #1 rating now, is Anand, an Indian, well spoken and seems friendly. Carlsen second, Aronian third, an Armenian. No discredit to them, but the highest rated Asian (and American player) is 8th in the world, Nakamura. I believe the highest rated Jewish player is Boris Gelfand, currently 16th in the world.

LOL!! If you guys think this guy has Autism or is "weird" you should see some real chess kids and their adult versions. Magnus is perhaps one of the most normal people chess has. Usually you have a bunch of Jews, Jew kids, and now Asians who just study and study and study and study chess in order to win something. NO FUCKING love whatsoever.
