@ar4216 To each his own. Considering he slathered some paint...well, really, his assistant slathered some paint...on huge reproductions of pulp nurse book covers printed on canvas I'm less than impressed. I believe Gagosian still represents him, though between the copyright infringement suit and the allegations of proliferating child porn I wonder how long that will last...

Whose his gallery- Gagosian? I do kinda like those nurse paintings.

Wat a tosser!

Don't believe the hype...Richard recently purchased a 11.5 million dollar mansion in the city...this interview is riddled with incorrect and purposefully misinformative info...

Good interview. I would not have much discipline ion my own.

Wow TasteMouth, damn, you're right...I simply couldn't see that I'm being bombarded by advertising images all day every day. Is that really your argument? Warhol already covered that territory ad nauseum. Soup, soup, soup, soup...changed nothing. As far as calling me a bozo and questioning my own originality, Prince is a rich, public figure...I would welcome the opportunity to be similarly scrutinized. And finally....Heaven and God...did I mention either? Wow, great critical skills!
-
yeah bozos what big "original" thing you doing these days... art is of the world we live in. sorry it doesn't come from heaven or god. it comes from who we are. where we are. you think you got something truly original to say, do, express? do it. but my bets are on that we are all in the mess of this dumb consumer-mad, isolate-yourself society. prince is just making the repitition ad infinitum of it all, plain as day. then maybe we can break from it. if we can see and reflect on it. critically...

How could Richard's life be about collaboration? Today: "Hey, let me recycle another Henry Youngerman joke and print it on torn-up books." Tomorrow: "Hmmm...I think I'll steal another Jim Krantz photo." The next day, "Huh, why don't I mount another $20 car hood on some wood and make another sculpture?" When Henry Youngerman wrote "Take my life, Please!" Richard listened.
Yeah, he also forgot to mention how he copies other people photos, then sells them for lots of money.
