RIP - Gem of the forest

Flora - My beautiful Mare was sadly put to sleep due to laminitus on 17th February 2010 after 6 long years together. She was my first pony and she was loved by many.

Flora pony you are my life
You have no idea how this hurts inside
A fun six years of fun weve had together
I thought you would be here forever and ever
We did stupid things as the best of friends
You looked after me right until the very end
Galloping across a field in just a headcollar
What was I thinking? You little horror!
That grumpy face always made me smile
But sometimes a happy one, just for a while
House parties with vodka apples, popcorn and fun
You were the main attraction at every one
Riding to the chip shop at lunch time and back
Id always have to share the lunch that Id packed
We would always get lost in the middle of nowhere
I made sure I took my flo-nav to get me somewhere!
You were always very good at getting me lost
But not once did you not get us home, at any cost
Oh my god, why cant go through that
Yes we can, hold onto your hat!!!
The confidence you gave me is the most cherished thing
And when we got to your track you used to PING!
Everyone wanted a ride on Flo
Was your colour, your speed, I really dont know?
You are the most honest mare I have ever met
Even if you did really did hate the vet!
Cows, needles and large hay bales your fears
But not once did you ever reduce me to tears
Hula hoops, cow parsley and cream soda
Your most favourite things as you got older
I always imagined you at my wedding
At the moment its just a day that Im dreading.
Your bestest friend was little Jessica mare
When I sold her we were both very bare
She was a little madam, just like you
Best friends forever my favourite two.
We had some fabulous times together
Far too many to type to remember
Sitting in the tree with Stevie P
You wanted to join in, even though it scared me!
You were truly loved by everyone
We even adored you J-Lo Bum!
Your cheeky face and wiggly nose
I love you to pieces like nobody knows!
You are my biggest memory of my Grandad Ken
He loved you as much as I do, even back then.
You made him smile the last time I ever saw him
My love, my light, I miss him sorely.
Six oclock in the morning the phone call to say
Floras escaped Im on my way!
In the field you could be a little madam to catch
But you were always a sucker for a wither scratch
You did anything I asked for you and never questioned it twice
Looking after your riders, even if your feed had been eaten by mice!
School fetes werent what you enjoyed the most
But you did it for me, as I was the host.
The prettiest girl who lights up any room
You are always so brave, always pinching my broom.
Breaking the rabbit hutch with your bum, just to pinch her food
Blowing at her fur always used to lighten the mood.
But now its sadly time to say goodbye
I love you so much, Im in pieces all the time.
You are my princess but a proper spoilt brat
Youre the best pony on the planet, but everyone knows that.
My special girl right until the end
Every penny I earn its on you I spend
Every moment in time I miss you lots
I love you lots and lots like jelly tots!
Kisses for everyone, occasionally love bites
Your tidy little stable, dont forget to turn off the lights.
Putting you rug on and taking one step back
Your very own style of trying to eat the cat!
But seriously my little gem, for all your little naughty quirks
It was only going to be me and you to make it work
My little Angel sent down from heaven
For me to love and cherish for ever and ever
Its the only way I can take the pain go away
I cant watch you suffer any more in any way
If I could fix you with a magic wand, believe me I would
I will cherish our memories forever, you know Id keep you if I could.
Through all the pain youve been so strong, How I wished my decision was so very wrong,
Our time spent together was not very long, I am trying just for you my angel to stay so strong.
As the weeks the months the years go by, in my heart you will never die,
Now the time has come I cannot lie, it tears me apart to say goodbye.
I wish it didnt end this way, I cant believe that this is real
You have touched so many lives, I really dont know what to feel,
My beautiful princess from start to end, we always had the perfect ride
