Hey, for those who wondered about the gauge setup.....

I got them from Equus. You can probably find them at Autozone, Advance, or O'Reilly auto parts. As you know, the standard gauges in the stock Firebird suck. The big one on the right has the oil pressure, water temp, and "Generator" power. Well, since I wanted an RPM guage, I found one that fit perfect in that hole. I used Urethane to hold it in place. The Speedo Gauge was easy to find and fit well also. You may have to cut some of the speedo cable end off in order to fit on the back of the guage. It is the screw-in type, and the Firebird had the clip on style.

I bought a complete set for the other guages... Oil, Water, and Battery. I installed them into some 1/4 board material and covered with black leather to match interior. It fit where the old A/C controls were and since I removed the A/C there was no need for the controls. I installed a toggle switch in the dash where the cigarette lighter was that operates the blower fan for a heater. That way I still have defrost. If it gets hot in there, you can buy a valve to put on the heater hoses for use during the summer. It gets hot in the car with all that hot water running through the heater core.

Interior Specs: All windows except front have been tinted 20%, new black carpet, headliner, front/rear door panels, dashpad, Carbon Fiber Leather seats, All new after-market dash gauges, Hurst Ratchet shifter, Kenwood 5032 CD player with Sirius/XM Satellite radio, and DUB 400watt rear chrome speakers. I covered the plastic box around the Hurst shifter the same as the center gauge set with black leather.

  • dead serious question...are you in Mexico or Texas?

  • I am living in Texas now, this video was taken in Southern Georgia in 2007 though..

  • Update: I am posting some new driving videos of the '69 Firebird.. I have received several emails about getting some videos made, so they will be up soon. Check my Youtube Channel..

  • hey man i love the gauges. what are the part numbers for the gauges in the dash? how big are they? i really like the way they fit and look. id appreciate any info thanks. steven

  • The gauges are made by "Equus." They can be found at big parts stores like O'Reilly's. The Tach is found under, "8068: 3-3/8" Tachometer." The speedo is found under, "8076: 3-3/8" Speedometer-White with Silver Bezel." The 3 small gauges in the center are found under, "8100: 1-1/2" Triple Gauge Kit."

  • I got a 350 69 firebird. I bought new seats from summit and the brackets do not fit. What seats / bracket set up do you have?

  • I purchased those carbon fiber seats off eBay and they came with the sliders. I think I had to punch a few holes in some old brackets to mount on the seat sliders.
